A really lovely pair of vintage boys soft cotton fabric underwear pants or briefs from circa the 1970s/early 1980s ideal for the collectors of vintage clothing or to wear if you love this difficult to find nowadays style - in a "pull on/off" style y fronts for your little boys.
These underpants have a "proper" functional 'Y front' front opening feature at the front which is double layered in same soft cotton for extra support and convenience. These pants are a fab two tone grey ..darker on the middle and lighter on the ribbed part of the legs and waistband...These are nice and funky and very 1970s/80s! with neat double stitched waistband and leg openings.
These boys pull on y fronts, are new old stock from a now closed down suppliers of underwear and clothing that traded between the early 1960s and early 1980s. They had been put into storage for many years in their original cardboard boxes and they are now very difficult to get hold of. I could only find a few of these. They must have been very nice and trendy at the time when mainly white or cream underwear was sold and look so much more comfortable than some of todays styles.
These vintage young boy's underwear had an old fashioned looking stick on label on the side but some have come off due to storage and passing of time. The one on the photo shows a larger size. The ones for sale here are the 6/8 years old. They were originally made in England, as most underwear were made then instead of being produced cheaply abroad.
Size 6/8 years: Waist: 17" relaxed yielding to 22" Hips: 19" stretching to 28" max, fully stretched.
Front rise: 8.5" stretching to approx. 10"
Leg openings: 12" stretching to approx. 15" max
Gusset across: just under 3" wide... stretching to approx. 5" fully stretched. approx.. Sides: 4.5" approx..
In pristine never worn, new old stock condition without tags.
