Most cleansers are alkaline because alkaline cleansers cleanse better. Many ask if slightly acidic cleansers are better than slightly alkaline ones. Actually, it may be a less burden on the skin to use slightly acidic cleansers because the pH is similar to the skin pH. However, those cleansers have a less cleansing effect. Slightly acidic cleansers can be a substitute for those who have too sensitive skin to use alkaline ones.
