Leica M-P (Typ 240) Titan Set

With the release of the Leica M-P (Typ 240) Titan, this is the first time that the camera body has been crafted almost entirely from titanium: the top plate, base plate and controls are all precision machined from solid metal. Made in Germany, this special edition is strictly limited to 333 units, and includes two masterpieces in lens construction: a Leica Summicron-M 28 mm f/2 ASPH. and a Leica APO-Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH. This is also the first time that these two lenses have been produced with an anodised titanium finish. The ‘Titanium Edition’ camera and lenses both represent pure perfection in their fusion of mechanical and optical engineering and premium design. The finishing touch to this outstanding set is the finest-quality carrying strap in black, full-grain cowhide, which perfectly complements the refined leather trim of the camera body.

With the release of the Leica M-P (Typ 240) Titan, Leica presents its fifth limited edition crafted from titanium. The camera body and all control elements are machined from solid metal and coated with a clear lacquer that fully protects the external surfaces of the camera from any external damage. Further special features, compared to Leica M-P (Typ 240) standard model are the leather body trim in black, full-grain cowhide and the special edition serial number engraved on the accessory shoe. The Leica M-P (Typ 240) Titan offers the same performance and benefits as the standard production model.

The standard lens for reportage photography is now presented, for the first time, in a titanium finish and harmonises perfectly with the camera. The Summicron-M 28 mm f/2 ASPH. is also made in Germany, and is manufactured in Wetzlar with an aluminium barrel and rings that are subsequently anodised with a high-quality titanium finish. The engravings of the focusing scale distances in feet, and the focal length of the lens are highlighted in red, in subtle contrast to the titanium finish. A further addition compared to the standard production lens is the unique special edition serial number displayed on the retaining ring of the front element of the lens.

The reference lens in its class, for imaging performance, completes the ‘Titan’ special edition set. The barrel and rings of the APO-Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH. are also precisely machined from aluminium and then perfected with a titanium-coloured, anodised finish. As with the 28 mm Summicron-M, the focusing scale distances in feet and the focal length engraving are highlighted in red. On this lens, the special edition serial number is engraved on the opposite side of the death field scale ring. The APO-Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH. harmonises perfectly with the refined titanium look of the Leica M-P (Typ 240) Titan and the Summicron-M 28 mm f/2 ASPH. to complete the limited edition set.
