Very cool and rare vintage rubber-band gun, the Rabaser was designed by Wayne Smith and manufactured by the Wayne Arms Company of Overland Park, Kansas in the 1980's. They were sold all over the world through catalogs and magazine ads. The Rabaser was featured as the centerfold item in Playboy magazine's Christmas Gift Guide in 1981. Rabasers were used by everyday people, movie stars and even used for training by SWAT teams. The velocity of the "Baser ammo" was about 175 ft per second and a 70-80 foot maximum range. They were used to kill small rodents with one shot from 10 ft but the projectile wouldn't break a window, shot at point blank range. An interesting weapon that the inventor billed as "The world's most powerful pistol that is safe and legal to shoot just about anywhere". Manufacture was discontinued over twenty-five years ago and special "Baser ammo" rubber bands are no longer manufactured either. However it shoots ordinary rubber bands with amazing accuracy.

Also, there is a small "cult" following of Rabaser enthusiasts and you'll find a youtube video at youtube.com/watch?v=wdRzxuZoXU8  showing how accurate it shoots ordinary rubber bands, as well as blogs and sites describing how to make your own "Baser ammo" with latex surgical tubing...
