Update (12/5/2017):

About half of the items in my collection have now sold. I would strongly recommend that you purchase this item if you are interested in it. You will be hard pressed to find another in this condition, and you may end up regretting it. I have received a couple of messages from buyers indicating they wish they did not hesitate making the purchase, after the item was bought by someone else.

You are bidding on a VERY RARE, MINT condition IBM 5150 Model-A PC. This is one of the very earliest models of the 5150 created, and is extremely rare. The PC is 100% working, and spotless! You will not find a spec of dust anywhere. This PC has been part of my personal collection for many years. This system is NOT a "pieced" together system. It is 100% original. Even the 256KB Memory card was part of the system when I acquired it.

This PC has the following components:

Early version motherboard (16KB-64KB), with 64KB memory
Early version CGA adapter
Early version 256KB memory expansion (for a total of 320KB)
Floppy controller card
Parallel card
2  full height 5 1/4" floppy drives

Remember, this PC originally came with NO floppy drives. You had to connect a cassette player.

If you really want to upgrade this system, you should take a look at the 20MB Plus HardCard Hard Drive I have for sale (if it is still available). It plugs into an expansion slot, so you can still keep the 2 Floppy drives installed, and it will keep the authentic look of the Model A.

For more information on the IBM 5150 Model-A, you can search for "IBM Model 5150 Model A" and click on the link from "minuszerodegrees". Sorry eBay won't let me post the direct link.

I pride myself in the honesty of all my listings. As mentioned. This PC is in MINT condition, given the fact that it is over 30 years old. The only condition issue I can remotely find is that there is a very slight discoloration where the monitor feet used to sit onto of the PC. It is very faint. Can you even spot it in the high-res pic of the top of the case? Take a look... you will be hard-pressed to find it.

eBay only provides the ability to post 12 pics. If you need a high def pic of any part that I have not included a pic of, please let me know and I will send it to you.

Why am I selling my collection? I used to be a very active IBM 5150/5160 collector/trader/seller. Through the years I have always keep the very best 5150's and 5160's, expansion cards, and IBM keyboards I could find for my personal collection. This year is my 20th wedding anniversary, and I intend on treating my wife to a wonderful vacation in South Africa. As the years have past, I find myself with less time to devote to my vintage PC collection. I am hoping to pass it on to people that will be able to give the pieces in my wonderful collection the attention and appreciation they deserve. The collection comes from a smoke-free home, and have been kept in an AC'ed room. The vintage IBM PC products are built like tanks, and I am sure they will still be running 100 years+ from now.

I have many other vintage IBM 5150 and 5160 PC's, IBM monitors, expansion cards, keyboards, and parts for sale. Please click on "view seller's other items" to see them.

These PC's and parts weigh a lot, so that is why you see the shipping prices you do. I simply enter the weight and dimensions. The prices you see are controlled by the post office. All items will be shipped insured. The "handling fee" you see is for insurance, since eBay does not provide a way to charge for that. I WILL NOT ship any item uninsured.

If you work for a company and get corporate shipping rates, you are welcome to send me a pre-paid shipping label. I have found that shipping UPS ground to a business address has always been the cheapest/best option, if you have a corporate UPS account. VERY IMPORTANT: YOU MUST insure the item for the value you bought it for. I WILL NOT SHIP ANY ITEM UNINSURED.

VERY IMPORTANT: All items are being sold AS IS. GREAT CARE will be taken to package everything expertly. All items are being sold AS-IS. As mentioned, everything has tested and working 100%. Every auction includes a pic showing that the item works. Every pic is of the ACTUAL item being sold.

I have over 840 feedback, 100% positive, so bid with confidence.

Thank you for reading all the way to the end. I appreciate it.
