These eight Delft plates are a classic of the Netherlands. It is part of a set of listings for a large collection of Porceleyne Fles items. As one of the Netherlands most popular and oldest porcelain manufacturers, the Porceleyne Fles stands for quality and class. It is the classic Delft blue everybody loves. This set of eight plates is unusual in that most of these are purchased as souvenirs to be displayed and not to be used on a table. The set I acquired has pretty much 8 of everything. The plates are all marked with The Fles and JT for Joost Thooft and the initials of the artist and most have the CE year mark for 1960. Condition is good, there is overall faint crazing, visible on close inspection and a slight discoloration to some of the plates. These will make a show stopping display on a dinner table together with whites and blues.
