Anne Bonny (8 March 1697 – unknown; possibly 29 December 1733)[1][2] was an Irish pirate operating in the Caribbean, and one of a few female pirates in recorded history.[3] The little that is known of her life comes largely from Captain Charles Johnson's (it is probable that this work was actually written by Daniel Defoe) A General History of the Pyrates.
Bonny was born in Ireland around 1700 and moved to London and then to the Province of Carolina when she was about 10 years old. She then married around 1715 and moved to Nassau in the Bahamas, a sanctuary for pirates. It was there that she met Calico Jack Rackham and became his pirate partner and lover. She was captured alongside Rackham and Mary Read
in October 1720. All three were sentenced to death, but Bonny and Read
had their executions stayed because both of them were pregnant. Read
died of a fever in jail in April 1721 (likely due to complications from
the pregnancy), but Bonny's fate is unknown.

Captain Kidd is a 1945 American adventure film starring Charles Laughton, Randolph Scott and Barbara Britton.[1] It was directed by Rowland V. Lee, his last before he retired,[2] and produced by Benedict Bogeaus and James Nasser. The music was conducted by Werner Janssen. The film was released by United Artists. It has entered the public domain because the producers neglected to renew the copyright in 1972. In his memoirs, Nikita Khrushchev noted that this was one of Joseph Stalin's favorite films, and that Stalin identified with the mischievous captain.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a Disney media franchise encompassing numerous theme park rides, a series of films, and spin-off novels, as well as a number of related video games and other media publications. The franchise originated with the theme park ride of the same name, which opened at Disneyland in 1967 and was one of the last Disneyland rides overseen by Walt Disney. Disney based the ride on pirate legends and folklore.
Pirates of the Caribbean became a media franchise with the release of The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003. As of October 2016, Pirates of the Caribbean rides can be found at five Disney theme park resorts. The films have grossed over $4.5 billion worldwide as of March 2019,[1] putting the film franchise 14th in the list of all-time highest-grossing franchises and film series.
