First of all such Gebruder Pandel  axe in such well preserved condittion is rare,difficult to find and not so,frequently met in entire internet space.

Dear buyers, up for auction is that VINTAGE GERMAN "Gebrüder Pandel " FORGED  AXE   from the WWII time .
Hand forged axe , made from the well  known all around the world German manufacturer established 1863 year "Gebrüder .Pandel"-Wuppertal-Küllenhahn .
German manufacturer  of  different kind of tools ,particularity axes with long and proud history from 1863 to 1997 year.
 Some info:
The company was founded as a smithy by Karl Pandel
(1834-1881). He was the third son of the nail smith
Abraham Pandel, the Ahn all Pandel on Küllenhahn. Its
Sons Adolf and Rudolf took over the forge and
they built from the tool factory. After the death of
Father, the company received the name "Gebr. Pandel". 1892
a gas engine was installed in 1902 a steam engine, and
1921 delivered electric motors, the energy required. 1916
the company built on its own grinding, 1921 followed
new office building with packing facility. In 1937 the company 50
Employees.
Building and company survived the 2nd World War, to the
1990s were manufactured tools. beginning of
1990s production was then adjusted to 1997 .

As you may see from the photos above the axe  is marked from the manufacturer.
The markings are clear and well readable.

The initials of the producer GP.

The axe needs fine sharpening and honig !
The handle is strong but in not great shape and condition.
I did not want to remove it because to save its authenticity.

The blade of the axe is 11cm (4.3") long.
Axe head is 19cm (7.5") wide  .
Total weight of the axe with the handle is 1,6 kg (3.5Lbrs) .
Handle 46cm / 18,1"  long.
