Description
- Royal Worcester The Blind Earl Round Bowl 8" Raised Motif Pristine
History:
Royal Worcester introduced this famous pattern in the 18th Century at the request of a British Earl blinded in a hunting accident. Legend has it that he requested a raised design so that he could feel the pattern. This creamer is part of a reissue of this pattern in the 1970's using the original molds. There are many versions of this pattern. This one is multicolored with a raised design and gold trim. It is marked on the bottom as shown. It is in pristine condition and was used sparingly To have a full dinner set in this pattern was a mark of great taste and stature. The Blind Earl pattern is an example of the fine workmanship for which Royal Worcester is famous. The textured floral motif looks like the English countryside.
