 This limited edition collector’s series plates from the series “The Legend of the Snowmaiden” are authentically crafted under the hallmark of the Leningrad Porcelain Factory, Leningrad USSR. These plates are crafted in the Russian tradition of miniature painting on lacquer with layers of pigment and gold detail and fired for 195 days, showing the beauty and artistry that goes into each hand crafted design. 

This is the plate set retelling the story of the Snowmaiden, one of Russia's most beloved fairy tales.

 Snowmaiden was the daughter of Faerie Spring and Mighty Winter. 

"You shall be safe from death as long as the love for a man does not enter your heart".

This series of hard fired porcelain plates released in 1989 and 1990 was crafted

 by Kholui Art Studios and distributed by the Bradford Exchange. 

The plates are 7 1/2" (19cm) and are not for food service. 

They have up to 16 ceramic colour pigments and are highlighted in gold. 

This beautiful plate is designed by Kholui miniature lacquer painting artist Sergei Dmitriev.
It is the seventh plate in "The Legend of the Snowmaiden" series of collector's plates.
