This exceptional violin was made from Russian spruce which has been selected for its tonal capabilities and cured for over 20 years. The two piece back of the violin is made from maple tonewood cured for 15 years demonstrating excellent flaming. The scroll is also made of maple. The violin is oil varnished in deep even shades with 'tasteful' antiquing. The pegs, tailpiece, and chin rest have been crafted from Rosewood and ebony.

The Maker

Luthier Disen Tim has worked with violins exclusive for over two decades. He has undertaken extensive training and study of traditional European techniques in his workshop. Adapting his own ideas about violin making at a younger age, he is particulary dedicated to the construction of new instruments and the copying of old Cremona Master instruments. His works offer violinists a broad spectrum of tonal choices from each unique copy.  Disen's instruments have well balanced proportions reflecting the original Cremonese plans or models and demonstrate superior craftsmanship. Over the years he has researched a plethora of antiquing techniques and utilises both oil and various spirit varnishes
