OFFERED HERE A VINTAGE GERMAN VIOLIN "CASPAR DA SALO" COPY I AM GUESSING 1920-1930.  To myself a layman, the violin appears to be in very good condition except it needs strings a bridge and is missing one ebony tuning peg. There are a few mars but no cracks. The bow is unmarked and needs the hair replaced. The frog is made of bone and is chipped on one side the screw also bone has a crack the bows Parisian Eye is missing some of its mother of pearl inlay.
The case has some material peeling from the outside but is structurally sound. The case contains a "Practice Mute."

This violin was owned by a lieutenant Co. Robert S. Moore who was the commanding officer of the 1st. Special forces in WW2. This violin was purchased in his travels in Europe.
