Hello. Up for your consideration this
week is a nice collapsible and very early Leica Elmar 50mm f/3.5 Black Dial
standard lens in Leica Screw Mount (LTM, LSM, M39, L39) complete with the
original Leica front lens cap, and the original Leica lens hood/filter adapter.
Lens Serial # 181636 (Dates to 1933). The
housing of this particular lens is in good condition exhibiting normal signs of
use that includes some blemishing, scratching, brassing, brightlining, and loss
of finish on the more vulnerable of surfaces. The lens erects and collapses
with ease. The focus is smooth, the infinity lock functions as it should, and
the aperture blades are dry and free from oil contamination. The optical glass
is clean and free from fungi, separation, blemishing, and scratching. A
penlight reveals some speckles of internal dust, some light internal hazing,
and a few fine cleaning marks. None of these defects will have any affect upon
the rendered image quality. The Leica lens hood/filter adapter is in good
condition and is likewise fully functional.
