Up for auction today is a primitive country BIRTH SAMPLER. It reads: On this day God gave us the most precious gift...ASHLEY SAMANTHA (your child's name) 8 LBS. 13 Oz (the child's weight), MARCH 31, 2005 (birthdate of the child). The phrase is stitched in a burgundy floss, and the Name, Weight, and Date are stitched in a black floss. This sampler MUST be paid for before I stitch the information on it! Two red hearts are stitched up in the upper left corner, and the other in the lower right side. A green vine encircles the whole sampler. This sampler will come to you without glass for that great old aged primitive look, and will also include a hanger on the back. I have soaked the sampler in a coffee and cinnamon stain, then baked it in the oven for that grungy old look. The solid wood frame is hand made by my husband, then I paint it black and ruff it up for that old primitive look. The frame measures 11 3/4" x 9 1/2". The BIRTH SAMPLER looks better than the picture will allow!
