The original panels that form this stunning grouping are basswood, whose surfaces have been "etched" by training the sun's rays & energy through a magnifying glass which produces a tiny laser-like beam… When focused on the wood, the resulting "laser" burns the wood's surface. No paints, inks, or pigments were used to create the original images... They are burned directly into the wood. Reliant on weather conditions & difficult to control, the process is time-consuming & painstaking, often requiring days or weeks to complete.
