Up for auction is a brand new and sealed copy of JUNIOR WATSON'S 2002 CD release, "If I Had A Genie" on the Heart & Soul Record label.

The title of Jr. Watson's first cd release almost a decade ago was "Long Overdue". To say the sentiment is relevant here is an understatement....More like way overdue!!

Over the past 9 years Watson has toured with his own group as well as serving time in Canned Heat. His genius & musical humor have appeared on countless releases by other players, but it seemed no one could corral him into the studio. After hearing the sound of Nick Curran's two releases, Watson & the band headed to Fort Horton Studios in Austin, impressed by the strong, organic studio sound of their productions. What transpired was a tight road band playing an eclectic mix of R&B covers and Watson originals. Given Jr's penchant for picking quirky material, it sometimes seems the originals have been around for decades too! Johnny Otis, Boogie Jake, Pee Wee Crayton and Lazy Lester are just some of the artists who get "Watsonized" on this excellent independent release. (This cd was released on a new label founded by Tommy Castro & his manager) With his humorous & confident vocals and always exciting guitar, this is everything you have waited for.
