WELCOME TO MY LISTING OF THIS,
WONDERFUL EARLY CHINESE QING DYNASTY
POLYCHROME ENAMEL BENCHARONG MADE FOR THE
SIAM ROYALS OF THE CHAKRI DYNASTY CIRCA 1700-1725.
(THE STAND IS FOR DISPLAY ONLY!)
This wonderful piece was made for Siam royalty around 1700-1725 by the Chinese of the same period,but known in China as the Qing Dynasty,with the word "BENCHARONG" basically meaning "FIVE COLOURS".
You more often than not,find these in smaller sizes,but this lovely example measures,23.5 cm across the bowl and has a foot rim diameter of 12 cm.
With its age has come some minor damage as you would reasonably expect to see on a piece of this age and type.
This is only minor and is classed as normal wear & tear for a piece of this age,type and construction with nibbling around the rim and odd chipping to the polychrome enamel,but overall displays beautifully.
Like we said previously,a very scarce find.
