Legendary outlaw Billy the Kid had his “picture made” in
Fort Sumner, N.M., in either 1879 or 1880 (over 130 years ago!) A single,
original reverse tintype is the only authenticated photo of the Kid in
existence today.
The tintype shows the “Kid” as he would have looked in
everyday clothes, worn boots, holding his 1873 Winchester carbine rifle and his
Colt (SAR) Single Action Revolver in his holster!
The original tintype was auctioned off a couple years ago and
