The Pektron SCU is fitted to MG-Rover vehicles manufactured from 8/2003 onwards...
Rover 25 / MG ZR / Streetwise - From VIN RF732814 onwards.
Rover 45 / MG ZS - From VIN RT637209 onwards.
MG TF - From VIN RD620459 onwards.
This unit controls all of the "Body Electrical" functions.
Common faults include failure of the following circuits..
Horn.
Central Locking.
Superlocking (Deadlock).
Drivers Electric Window.
Rear Fog lights.
Intermittent Wiper function.
These problems are caused by failure of the Pektron branded 0662P04A relays.
The OE relay failure is due to the poor quality, fine diameter, enamelled wire that was used in their coil windings. The wire corrodes and breaks, which results in the failure.
There are a total of 5 relays in the SCU and all are of the same type.
Why spend hundreds of pounds having the SCU replaced when you can easily repair unit yourself. The relays can be desoldered and replaced.
Relay purchase includes full email technical support to help with your repair.
These relays are also a suitable replacement for those used in the Pektron ETACS and ESA modules fitted to the LDV Maxus van.
They will fix the wiper, foglight, heated rear window and central locking faults on these vehicles.
