These residual pressure valves retain a minimum brake line pressure to help eliminate excessive pedal travel in both disc and drum brake systems. The 2 PSI valve is used in disc brake applications where the master cylinder is mounted below the horizontal plane of the calipers and fluid drain back occurs from gravity and vibration. The 10 PSI valve is used in drum brake applications where the valve is used to compensate for return spring tension and to maintain wheel cylinder sealing inside the drums.

 

DESIGN

  • Made from billet aluminium
  • Annodised red or black
  • M10 x 1mm thread - industry standard thread type for brake systems
  • 2 PSI - Arrow on the valve shows direction in which the valve should be placed  10 PSI - Taper on one end of the valve shows direction in which the valve should be placed
  • Factory set pressure of 2PSI or 10PSI
  • Single flare

USE

  • Install the valve as close as possible in line to the master cylinder to ensure as much of the line as possible is pressurised
  • Enhances brake performance as it holds a constant pressure in the brake line to ensure the caliper is nearer to the disc, ready for the system to be activated
  • Greatly aids turning under braking
  • 10PSI Only - Especially beneficial where the brake master cylinder is located below the horizontal plane of the calipers
