RNDr. Vaclav Jan Staněk (July 16, 1907, Miskovice - October 5, 1983) was a significant Czech scientist - naturalist, mycologist, botanist, photographer, filmmaker, author of the first Czech science films, author of many photographic books about animals. Longtime member of the Zoological Department of the National Museum, assistant director of the Prague Zoo, and later its director (from 26 August 1938 to the end of October 1939).
