2003 - 2004 NFL NEW ORLEANS SAINTS CARAVAN TABLE PLACARD ( NAME ) -- ORLANDO RUFF.     THESE NAME PLACARDS WERE SET UP AT TABLES WHERE THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS WERE SEATED TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS FOR FANS.   !!!  

You are bidding on a single one of a kind table name placard for ORLANDO RUFF.     This placard was placed on the table where ORLANDO RUFF was assigned to autograph items for fans at the different Caravan events during the pre-season Tour.       The New Orleans Saints organization figured out several years ago that it was confronted with unique marketing problems because of the small population in the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan area.      In order to be able to fill the Superdome , they would have to expand the fan base to include the Gulf Coast Region of Mississippi and Alabama.      Those (2) two states did not have an NFL franchise and therefore were perceived to be fertile grounds to expand season ticket holders.      As a result the Saints organized summer caravans of players, coaches, and administrators to visit such cities as Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Jackson, Mobile and Pensacola.      They also decided to market Louisiana by visiting Baton Rouge, Alexandria, Shreveport, Bossier City and Monroe.      As part of their promotional efforts, they printed cards of players, coaches and administrators to be given out at each stop.      As you can imagine the production and distribution of these cards was quite limited contributing to their scarcity !       I believe the Saints printed (14) fourteen individual cards including CHARLES GRANT, DEVERY HENDERSON, JOE HORN, DARREN HOWARD, MICHAEL LEWIS, FRED McAFEE, DEUCE McALLISTER, JEROME PATHON, ORLANDO RUFF, DONTE STALLWORTH, BOO WILLIAMS, BRIAN YOUNG, JIM HASLETT, MICKEY LOOMIS and RICK MUELLER

This placard appears to be in very good++/excellent condition; as can be seen in the photos.
