A modern substitute for the chiming clocks made by the Hermle or Miller Clock Company - no longer in production - please check your dimensions if you are looking for a replacement.
Four built-in melodies are; Full 4/4 Westminster, Ave Maria, Westminster and Bim Bam. Hourly strikes follow the selected hourly chime.
Advanced night-time chiming controls include an optical sensor for automatic control of sound output. A long lead facilitates appropriate positioning if you choose to utilise it. A switch is provided for selection.
A high quality speaker box is included with a plug and socket connection to facilitate its convenient positioning for the optimum sound output.
Incorporates a pendulum mechanism, which is optional since it doesn't affect the timing.
Use a pendulum (up to 420mm in length and 100 grams in weight) or leave the arm clipped to the side and out of use. Some rods & bobs are shown below, or use you own.

Shaft details

I-shaft (Euroshaft) type shaft / spindle. The hour hand is a push-on hand. The minute hand is retained with a small round brass nut, as shown in photo. This movement does have a pin for a second hand. The I-shaft (Euroshaft) type shaft is defined as follows; hour hand shaft diameter: 5.0mm minute hand shaft: 3.5mm x 2.8mm, threaded for M3.5mm round nut. We supply a digital vernier caliper tool which is perfect to measure this accurately if needed. Matching clock hands are shown below.

Shaft length: Medium length, 18mm overall
The shaft length is the combined length of the threaded mounting bush and hand shafts.

18mm: Thread length 10mm, suits clock face thicknesses up to 10mm. Includes small minute hand fixing nut

Controls
Details of the controls on the back of the unit;

Controls on the left. Monitor pushbutton: Set pushbutton: Select melody switch: 1. Full 4/4 Westminster. 2. Ave Maria. 3. Westminster. 4. Bim Bam. Speaker unit simply plugs in, then it's ready to play. Powered by a pair of C size batteries (not included). Full instructions are included for testing and setting up.	Young Town movement with adjustment wheel for hands. The movement has the usual adjustment wheel to move the clock hands. Mounting hardware is included, according to the type of fixing chosen. Install the batteries, plug in the speaker and the unit is ready for testing.	Controls on the right. Sound output settings: 1. Night Off - no sound during silent hours. 2. CDS - no sound during dark hours. 3. Off - no sound at all. Volume knob: Turn to vary chime volume. Reset pushbutton:

Speaker box details Dimensions: W118 x H113 x D32mm, excluding mounting points Simply connects with an inline plug and socket.       Optical sensor details Enables automatic silencing of chime during darkness. This facility is enabled by selecting the 'CDS' option on the Sound output switch.

 

Fixing nut type
Mounting thread diameter: 7.5mm (standard thread).
We offer a choice in the type of fixing nut. The price is the same.

	Hex nut and washer includes rubber washer, and flat metal washer with brass fixing nut. The rubber washer is intended to sit behind the clock dial. The brass washer and nut is fitted at the front of the dial. Suitable for dial thicknesses up to 8mm with both washers installed.
	Slotted round nut includes rubber washer with round brass fixing nut. The brass washer isn't needed which does give a smarter finish. The round nut uses less of the threaded shaft so can be used for dial thicknesses up to 9mm. A deeper one is available too which can be used for dial thicknesses up to 10mm. The round nut needs a dial centre hole diameter of 10mm.
