You won't find a more durable material than braided jute - never have I seen anything easier to clean! It hides a multitude of sins and easily spot cleans any spill you can create. (I have the runner on my kitchen counter and the matching rug on my kitchen floor. After spilling wet coffee grounds on the rug that left no trace, not to mention hundreds of counter spills, I'm a believer!)
