One Thousand and One Nights is a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales compiled in Arabic during the Islamic Golden Age. It is more commonly known in English as "Arabian Nights". The work was collected over many centuries by various authors, translators, and scholars across West, Central, and South Asia and North Africa. The tales themselves trace their roots back to ancient and medieval folklore and literature.
This image, from a 1967 British printing of the tales, features Cassim (& his donkeys!) seeing the thieves' treasure for the first time. This is a famous image depicted in artwork throughout the centuries - but here it is in cartoon form blown up to poster size for all to enjoy!
