This oil is purchased in bulk from one of Mobil's authorised distributors. We decant the oil into bottles ourselves for sale in smaller quantities. The plastic bottle, cap and label are not original Mobil items. The original Mobil batch numbers are included on the label to provide traceability to the manufacturing batch.
Description
Mobil DTE Oil Light is an ISO VG 32 grade Circulating Oil.
The Mobil DTE Oil Named Series of lubricants are premium performance circulating lubricants designed for applications including steam and hydro turbine sets and other systems where long lubricant service life is required.
Mobil DTE Oil Named Series lubricants are formulated from highly refined base stocks and an additive system which provide an extremely high level of chemical and thermal stability, rapid and complete separation from water and a high resistance to emulsification. They provide excellent protection against rust and corrosion, including resistance to salt water, and good antiwear properties. They have a high viscosity index which ensures minimum variation of film thickness with temperature and minimum power loss during the warm up period. These grades have excellent air release properties which allow entrained air to separate, thus avoiding pump cavitation and erratic operation.

To simplify specification of machine oils for their machines, they adopted an approved products list, grouping oils from various manufacturers into categories with minimum specifications. Instead of specifying one particular manufacturer of oil for their machines, they suggest you choose an oil from the approved products list in the relevant category.
This oil appears in the P-38 category. The following oils are also approved under the P-38 category. If an oil is present on this list, it is a good indication that it is of similar specification to this oil, and could possibly be substituted, however, additional checks should be made with the manufacturers data sheets before substituting.
