Early old 1940s/50s, possibly earlier, University of Wisconsin - Madison mascot doll.....not sure if this was originally intended as a dog or Badger itself. It retains the original "W" patch on each side....moving eyes...wool felt in beautiful condition, but some light scattered nibbles on the back paw....dusty red and white.....a really lovely piece....
Condition is estate fresh and lovely, from a University of Wisconsin- Madison old closed estate...most likely early graduates in the 1940s/50s.... really fun find...and if you know, you know, this is an uncommon mascot toy.....
There is a tiny tear on the back tail, exposing the original stuffing, some falling out, and it may need some attention or TLC, however, it adds to the charm. It looks like it had some repairs over time on the bottom base of the animal. see photos... As a Badger myself, I'm sad to see this go, however, I'm raising funds to learn how to fly. Fun old UW-Madison Badgers collectible....
