CARVED EBONY AFRICAN SCULPTURE
CANDY DISH / KEYS HOLDER
Highly DETAILED
likely by James Makau

This detailed carving is part of the James Makau collection brought to Dallas Texas from Kenya IN 1964.

Makau is known for teaching African carvers how to do very fine detailed work. He is the founder of the Kenya Carver's Society circa 1980.

This carving is 3 characters of a traditional Kenya family. The faces are so detailed that individual skin and hair marks are included. My favorite thing about this carving is that it is functional as a tray.

This carving will be available at this discounted by it now price for 30 days. If it is available at the end of the first 30 days, a live auction will start at this same value and go higher.
