This is NOT AN O.E.M KIT. The parts in this kit will get your amplifier working.

These electronic parts have the same function & electrical characteristics of the original equipment parts. All Capacitors are radial not Axial. Of course. Usable tubes. Functioning Relays. Some parts may be of a higher current or voltage rating than original. They will work fine. The transistors may not be the same part number; but they will work if installed correctly. E.B.C. Emitter Base Collector.

You have to have TOOLS such as : 30 to 60 watt Iron or variable larger soldering gun. Solder paste & at least one surgical tweezers ; needle nose pliers & Cheap Analog Multi-meter. Optional ; but good to have. Transistor checker/Capacitor tester.

A basic understanding of BJT transistors like emitter, base , collector LOCATION. The legs of the PNP or NPN transistors in the kit. How Diodes function. Signal & rectifier diodes. Anode - cathode. Capacitors - +.Relays.

You can teach yourself quickly these basics. DO NOT BUY THIS KIT IF YOU
THINK IT IS "PLUG & PLAY" & DO NOT BUY IT IF YOU THINK IT IS SOMETHING

Else OTHER than a Collection of PARTS to be Installed BY YOU.

D&A Phantom 500 PDX400 10-12 tube All Versions  Hornet , Hawk kit coming !

Updated 4/1/2018     When U Buy THIS KIT. Let me know which VERSION U own. So that I send U a Kit tailored for your Version !

It seems the majority of 10 to 12 tubers only came with 6 High Voltage Capacitors. Instead of 8. This kit has 6 now. Simply I.M. me if Yur Box requires 8x.

Added 1 more Z-14 Choke. Total 2X now. I have repaired several in the last two years. They Toast in pairs most of the time.

Added 1x 110v DC relay for 6AQ5 kit version. Added 1x OEM 10-12v relay to solid state version. Seems "the Stage switch relays toast before any of the others."limited Supply of OEM"

Added a few more passive components. Solid state keyup version. Blows nearly all rectifier diodes when heavy Arcing gremlins strike underneath chassis.

Added a second OEM Rf filter choke. Now has 2x. 1 heavy duty for the "Input" RF Choke Soviet Military. 1 for the negative grid bias choke. USA made.

Soon. Will add to this listing. Basic Trouble Shooting guide for this Beast !

Update 1/10/2017
Let me know which version of this Beast U have.
Eg   Tube key-up (6AQ5 tube) or Solid state. I will send the appropriate
Key-up parts for Ur Beast. If U do not tell me anything.U will be sent the solid state version of parts.

Back in the day. D&A amplifiers were perfect companions in the tube era of Citizen Band.

Many who could afford a Browning Mark III usually had a D&A Phantom or one of several variants.

D&A manufacturing was a wily competitor. Seemingly one step ahead of the FCC.

Received a few requests. So here is a kit (s) to restore one of these foot Warmers.

From memory & looking at a faded poor schematic on the Internet; Here is a general purpose kit

to get this beast screaming again.

I can only guess the rational as to why so many variants were made. Possibly business was

booming.

They ran out of some parts and simply made do with whatever was in the inventory.

Ahh. Always wanted the D&A Warrior. Would look great next to my POW KW+, Two

piece KW Maco & JB 1000.  UPDATE - I Now have A DA Warrior ! Will add a

listing "soon" for a refurb/upgrade Kit ! ONE OF THESE DAYS LOL !

Should never have sold my last Phantom re-tubed to 24 L.Q.6 !   But as of 4-1 2018 Have 7 ha ha ha ha !

Update. I have FOUR versions of Phantom !!!

Even a Novice can refurbish this Amp. Read my other listings. HIGH VOLTAGE is

 LETHAL .

Be careful.      I will update in a few Days a parts list for each Version of Phantom-PDX 400 in my collection.

1 X 220uf 50Volts

2 X 22uf 50V

2 X HV RF Choke...........They rarely go bad. But they do eventually on the High Side.

2x Low Voltage choke for bias supply & or input circuit. The RF choke supplied looks a

lot different than the originals. It is a Military Grade + or - 1% tolerance .

It handles higher currents.

6 x 450 v 120 uf HV radial caps. ...........................HV Caps deteriorate with age.

Some Amps might be missing the Low side 2 caps So you can use six. However.

You can put back that circuit if it is missing.

12 X 3 Amp rectifier Diodes.

1 X Key-up Transistor.

1 X large bias capacitor 100uf 100v to 450v

1 x small RF choke...common failure in the final bias supply circuit. This one looks very different from the originals but is electrically equivalent and is Military grade.

If you are stuck with a tube version key up circuit. You can upgrade with a few more parts. To a solid state key-up circuit.

3x small signal diodes......Very common problem on the key-up strip & receive pre-amp strip. 3x 1 amp rectifier diodes. Common issue all versions. Receive & key-up strip, bias supply.

With the advent of the Internet. Yes you too can quickly become a Golden Screw Driver

! Research ! diodes, rectifier, PNP Transistor etc.

Discharge these caps before working on any of these units. HI VOLTAGE KILLS.

 Unplug the unit.

As I remember the few I worked on did not have bleeder resistors in the HV power

 supply!

I believe; have in my possesion all versions of phantom 500's except the very fist one. This early one. Appears to have had

3 separate bias supplies.

YOU MUST DESCRIBE your unit accurately to me. So I can send you. The most common repair parts needed to fix your beast.
