Guitar Works specialise in custom building a guitar to your specification, one
that you can have the ultimate confidence in its feel, tone and playability and
truly cherish.
We also
produce our own range of Handwound pickups and Handwired wiring looms and
undertake upgrades, repairs and setups
Ready Built up Gibson 4 Pot SG etc. Wiring upgrade / Loom
Similar to Les Paul version but with shorter switch and switch wires
These wiring looms are
Individually hand-wired
from UK-sourced genuine parts using 22 gauge Gavitt vintage cloth
covered wire. A drop in replacement and a great performance and
reliability upgrade for all Les Pauls. Top quality matched components are used throughout and the "float wire" method is adopted where all
wires are pulled tight and elevated so they make no contact with the
control /baseplate. It takes a little longer to build but is definitely
worth the effort to maximise performance
Incorporates:
- Matched* CTS USA
Custom Audio Taper 500K or 250K (You choose) Split Shaft Volume & Tone Potentiometers -
smooth linear volume and tone change (no bunching or on/off effect)
- 0.022uF Sprague "Orange Drop" Tone Capacitors** - removes the thinness and harshness inherent with budget capacitors
- Separate "treble bleed" mod for both pickups - no muddiness of tone when reducing the volume knob
- Premium quality SwitchCraft / High quality import and No Switch option
- Quality Jack Socket
- Bridge earth wire supplied with heatshrink tube to twist join with exiting earth, solder and insulate
- Easy to follow colour coded wiring diagram
Fully soldered together and includes all nuts screws and washers ready to fit to your guitar. Fitting requires
only basic skills and 4 solder connections which are pre-tinned: Solder
the black (Negative) pickup wires to the back of the Volume pot
and the white (positive) wires to the colour coded switch terminals
* Matched in-house to within 10 Ohms (CTS
pots tolerance is +/- 20% so a 250K pot can vary from 200-300 Ohms)
** Now using the 715p version which is sonically superior to the commonly used 225p
