The RC Tractor Guy control board is a compact programmable radio receiver or more correctly radio transceiver intended for use in small scale radio controlled models. The RC Tractor Guy has demonstrated their use in 1:32 scale models but they are suitable for a wide variety of radio control and other wireless micro controller applications.

16 programmable pins suitable for use as inputs/outputs or for Servo control. Additioanl output or input pins can be added using expansions chips such as the PCF8574 which is used on the motor driver shields.

Motor driver shields (sold separately) provide the ability to drive two motors. Two options available a larger version with 2.54mm pin spacing is useful for large RC vehicles or for testing purposes and a more compact version using 1.27mm pin spacing for wiring into small scale vehicles. 

The board utilises the NRF24L01 radio modules for communication. 

Programming can be done using the Arduino IDE and the RC Tractor Guy provides a library on his website which has many examples from the various vehicles you've seen on the YouTube channel.
