Revive the original Tri-ang/Hornby Track Cleaning car.
Over time, oil and dirt builds up on your track preventing good electrical contact.
These pads fit the track cleaning car produced in red and black and green liveries and is adorned with the words “PERMANENT WAY DEPT TR 9372”.
No doubt your original felt pads supplied along with the model have long since been lost, degraded or shrunk.
The 1970s built track cleaning car is still an effective track cleaner offering a cheap alternative to current track cleaning cars and is still readily available second hand.
These new Mk.2 pads, are not original Tri-ang/Hornby felt pads; but are made from a much more similar material to the original pads sold with the track cleaning car. The pads form the same friction fit to the track cleaning car as the original Triang S.6031 felt cleaning strips, can be inserted using a flat steel rule and can be used wet (with a cleaning agent of your choice e.g. methylated spirits, IPA or other track cleaning solutions) or dry.
