They were sold as £219 ea! in a large national retailers 'sale'. We are clearing the line so I am sure you can see the saving for a discontinued line. They are not on a magic sale price and will always be available ... when they are gone they are gone.

The frame is welded steel rather than more cheaply constructed timber frames that we have seen fail.

As for the leather on the chairs, they are not the first cut from a hide, but are leather that is bonded and compressed making them more durable. 

We have taken one apart and they have a suede like backing showing that they are from leather. I have heard a term eco leather or bonded leather where the various leathers are formed. This is helpful to make the shapes and hold the form on the legs. It is perhaps best that you see one if this is critical - we are not leather experts, but these are a real saving and cleared at cost. They are NOT PVC or an imitation leather. We do not know more than this, other than there is a pdf on our website. The carriage is costly on these so we would not recommend if you are unsure.
