The Welsh Gold Collection: Traditions by Various Artists. . Condition is Brand new. Sent with Australia Post Standard.

This selection brings together some of Wales’ leading folk artists, displaying a wide variety of styles and talents. As befits a Welsh compilation, the harp – the national instrument of Wales – features prominently, and also the vocal element is paramount, from the solo voices of Siân James and Gwenan Gibbard to the close harmony of Plethyn, steeped in the plygain carol tradition. Over the past four decades, the instrumental tradition in Wales has undergone a dramatic revival, as exemplified here by the leading exponent of the triple harp, Robin Huw Bowen, the brilliant young band Calan, and three of Wales’ major folk ensembles, Crasdant, Ar Log and Carreg Lafar.

If you want to know what Welsh world music is all about, then this is a great place to start!
