Expedition South relates the experiences of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey Expedition, Hope Bay 1954-56. Eminently readable, and illustrated with some great photographs, this book demonstrates the tough conditions Antartic surveyors survived some 60 years ago.
The book measures approximately 22cm by 14cm with 207 pages, and weighs around 400g. It is a hardback with NO dust jacket.
Condition: This second-hand hardback book is in very good vintage condition. The corners of the cover boards are bumped, and there is some wear / sun bleaching to the spine. Cover boards and inside back cover have some child’s scribble, previous owner’s name on inside of front end paper. The internal pages are clean, flat and tight to the binding. There is evidence of reading wear. The book pictured below is the one you will receive.
