Antique George III Mahogany Carved and Inlaid Sheraton Period from the late 18th Century Dining Chairs Circa 1790

These are a fine handmade set of English George III, Sheraton period mahogany dining or side chairs with good carved urn details to the back and tops. The chairs have at some stage in their life been reupholstered with the finest quality silk cushions, the chairs are open webbed sprung seats which you can see in the photos as was the style back when they were made. There are two pieces of very small inlay missing on two seperate chairs, please view photos. These chairs date back to the late 18th century, circa 1790. They are very beautiful and very comfortable to sit on and use. They would look fabulous in any household around any dining table.   

These chairs have 
Inlay throughout the seat on the back as well as the front seat and the sides. 
Inlay and carving on the top and back of the seat 
They have an Urn pattern on the back which is a very rare motif and style
Incised Leaf and fluted swirls on the edge arising from the Inlaid Urn to the back.

The chairs are made of solid mahogany with the timber chosen for its figured grain pattern as per the top rail. The sprung seats have been upholstered with a silk diamond pattern and they have a gold braid trim all around the seats which meets between the edge of the seat and the frame. 

These elegant chairs have developed a lovely rich and soft paternation and depth of colour where they have been used and polished in well over 225 years of use. These are truly magnificent.
