Offered here is an authentically old handmade trapper's knife measuring 11 1/2" OAL with deeply oxidized blade, now mostly brown/black color and chipped point.  The guard is brass, now showing a pleasing brown color.  The wood grips show obvious in-use wear but are still solid with only one minor ding as can be seen in the pics.  The sheath is much later than the knife having been fashioned from what appears to be a commercially produced leather sheath with an applied animal skin to front for decoration.  A really neat old combination with native american influence.  My husband's original tag indicated C. 1830's with the knife showing commensurate wear and use.  See pics for condition.
