Vintage Greenop 1920s Stunning Rare Banjolin (Banjo-Mandolin) in original case

Purchased second hand in the early 1960s by career Variety Performance actor and musician Mick "Malcolm Hilbery", one of several of his musical instruments he bought and used during the decades of his prolific variety act career.

It comes with its original case and although it hasn't been used in years, it has been stored in a cool dry place in its case. Will need restringing and setting up about fundamentally appears to be in very good condition for its age. It's will need to frets replacing at the 10th and 11th fret, but the neck appears to be good and true the bridge, saddle, nut, tuning keys, skin in and beautifully ornate neck join all appear to be in excellent working condition.

Although I'm no expert on this particular instrument, I am a musician with a fondness for high quality vintage stringed instruments and to me it appears to be a very nicely made instrument made in England by Greentop and had obviously been played very much with Mick during his career and has a great patina and timeworn feel.

It still dons his original colourful braided strap.

The photos in the listing are of Mick and Ian in their heyday, in the 1960s
