Urfa biber is a Turkish chili pepper of the type grown in the Urfa region of Turkey. The fruit is bright red and tapers to a blunt point. It is often described as having a smoky earthy, 'raisin-like' taste, similar to the Aleppo pepper. It is generally sun-dried, 'sweated' and ground, resulting in dark flakes which are then added to stews and other dishes. A full packet contains over 50 seeds,
