OHV bring you this nice example of a early Baldwin Virginian 550

This is a uk made and never exported example so suffers no cracking damage to the Body but it does show some dinks on the front but nothing dramatic. The Back has a couple of very minor surface scratches but overall this guitar is in a very clean condition apart from those noted marks there is however there is a notable scuff  on the lower edge of the horn its not a crack just a scuff to the polyester finish ,please see last photo.
The two "Bar-O-Matik" pickups and the fully adjustable floating spring-tensioned "Rezo-Tube" bridge all work as they should as does the three-knob "density' tone circuit designed by the legendary Jim Burns, which consists of a stacked "Bar-O-Matik" neck pickup with a blendable second coil combined with a single-coil at the bridge.
The neck is a real easy player with a fast action and a very nice punchy sound

The Virginian was the last guitar Jim Burns designed for his company before it was sold to Baldwin in 1965 and this guitar was unlike anything available at the time, Thin lines are quite common these days and many manufacturers have a model or two in their line up but not in the early 60's at first glance it appears to be simply another flat top round-hole amplified acoustic but the Virginian is in fact a Thinline fully electric semi-hollow body guitar built with a braced mahogany laminate body and sycamore top

The scroll-head maple neck has a rosewood fingerboard and zero fret. The scale length is 24.5 inches and the nut width 1 11/16 inches.

comes complete with it original baldwin virginian case (not pictured)
