- Own part of the sci-fi movie/robot toy craze launched by Star Wars more than 40 years ago
- One of the noted "Horikawa bootleg knockoffs" made in Hong Kong
- Note style of Stormtrooper helmet as distinct from other models (smoother, more rounded, with "ear" protrusions)
- Sold by the original owner
- Received as a birthday gift; most likely in March, 1978 or 1979 (friend's mom had a Japanese gift store & imported many toys from the region)
- Unused and in storage for nearly 40 years
- Still lights up and makes rat-tat-tat "firing" sound
- Upon the first attempt to test it, it also rotated at the torso and its chest cannon doors opened as designed
- Sadly, on the second attempt (trying to get that on video), it started to rotate, and stopped (lights/firing sounds continued)
- It apparently suffered the same problem as most of these: presumably a plastic gear inside broke/failed (you can hear a piece rattling around inside)
- All original parts, including matching gray battery compartment cover
- Other than that internal gear, all plastic and stickers intact with no cracks, scratches, or significant wear marks
- Battery compartment completely free of corrosion
- A couple areas show overflow of the adhesive used to join plastic pieces (see photos)
- Clean and presentable - ready for display!
- Unfortunately, because of this item's fragile nature, it must be sold As Is, and it is Non-Returnable
