Classroom models used for navigation training for bomber and cargo planes at AAFNS Hondo.

Part of a collection of similar photos all found together, and this one was likely obtained by the USAAF for training purposes at the AAFNS Synthetic Training Section at Hondo AFB, Texas during WW2.

AFTAD was the Air Force Training Aids Division of the USAAF during WW2.

AAFNS was the Army Air Force Navigational School at Hondo Air Base during WW2.  They trained bomber and transport navigators.

A very rare and unique photo.  The history of the Hondo Air Base is extensive and online, check it out on Wikia.

Be sure to check out the other photos I have listed from this grouping.
