Don't give up on those expensive 26" wheel MTBs which are still a good ride but may have damaged wheels by now.  High quality set of 26" disc brake wheels for everyday use or an upgrade for a cheaper MTB. You can even upgrade to a Shimano or SRAM 12 speed set up.

Velocity Blunt 35 rims (formerly known as the P35) designed by MTB guru Kirk Pacenti and made by Velocity in the USA. Sturdy rims with a 35mm outer width and 30mm inner width (slightly wider than the now unavailable Stans Flow Mk3 26" rim). Disc brake only. Suitable for MTB tyre sizes between 2.25" and 2.80"    Tubeless compatible but Presta valve tubes will fit if desired. 

Hubs are the British made, light and very high quality Hope Pro4. MTB standard 100mm wide front hub and  142/135mm wide rear hub (Boost is also available but not normally found on 26" bikes). If you want fuss free wheels for typically wet and muddy UK riding conditions, Hope hubs are the best with excellent water seals and a low maintenance requirement.

Pretty much every axle size and freehub option is available. 

Front: QR, 9mm thru, 12mm thru, 15mm thru and 20mm thru (also 15mm and 20mm Boost).

Rear: QR, 10x135, 12x135, 12x142, (also 12x148 Boost). 10x135 Bolt in, 12x150 and 12x157 available for £12 extra.

Freehub: Shimano 11 alloy, Shimano 11 steel, Shimano 12 speed Microspline or SRAM 11/12 speed XD

Standard colour is black but red, blue, purple, silver and orange also available at the same cost (non-black hubs need to be ordered and may take a few days longer).

Cheaper Novatec, Bitex or Shimano hubs are also available. Contact us directly for details of these. 

The 32 spokes are high quality Belgian made silver Sapim Race double butted type. Double butted spokes are both lighter and stronger than standard plain gauge spokes. Made from 100% stainless steel and fastened with solid brass nipples. 

The wheels are built using a 3x (3 cross) pattern which is the best compromise between strength without excess weight.

Total wheelset weight of the set pictured is 1940g with optional black Race spokes, black alloy nipples and tubeless set-up. The freehub in the pictures is a Shimano 12 speed Microspline.

All our wheels are handbuilt to the same high standards. Rims are true to +or- 0.2mm and spokes uniformly tensioned to within 10%.
