Condition of wrappers is very good to excellent!
-------------------
Turbo is a brand of chewing gum made by Turkish company 'KENT' and sold in many European & Asian countries. The company produced numerous brands of chewing gum and candy in the late 80's and throughout the 90's. 'TURBO' was released in 1987 with numbers 1-50 (production Nov/87-Jun/88). Due to limited supply and low popularity in the beginning it didn't attract collectors, which is why numbers of the 1st series became extremely rare later on. Collecting 'Turbo' wrappers gained popularity with the release of 2nd series numbers 51-120 (production Jun/88-Mar/90). It coincided with the Revolutions of 1989 in the Eastern Bloc and collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, which opened all those markets for imported goods. If you were born between 1975 and 1985 in one of the former Soviet Socialist Republics or their allied Eastern European states you must know what this was all about. Number of all complete sets worldwide is unknown. Our boldest assumption is less than 30 (but most likely less than 15). Only 5 sets (or none) could be in condition as good as the items for sale here! Estimated number of all who collected Turbo in their childhood, youth, or collect it today as adults is above 100 million people. For many of them imported candy was the first affordable piece of capitalism and remained important memorabilia of that period.
