This pewter tray was designed in 1924 by the Svenskt Tenn Company and the motive by the Swedish artist Ossian Elgström (often used motives from the northern part of Sweden) is named “Norrsken & renar” (“Northern lights and reindeer”). “50 mil” is just in the motive for the distant to travel.

Provenance: the tray has the following stamps: production city Stockholm (crowned head), s.c. Angelmark for Svenskt Tenn company (round with two angels) and production year 1928 (B8). The inscription “19 13/10 29” is probably the date when the tray was given as a gift.

The tray is depicted in Svenskt Tenn Company pewter catalogue from 1931, as seen in last picture.

Has hanging piece on back for quick wall display.

Thank you for looking.
