This stunning set includes 67 square cut bezel set green tourmalines in the necklace and an additional 4 for the earrings. 40+ carats green tourmaline matched gemstones & 165+ grams of 18K Gold.

If you know anything about the designer/jeweler - artisan really - then you KNOW! This is extremely high caliber, museum quality, red carpet jewelry. World renowned Brazilian jeweler H. Burle Marx’ pieces have been worn by royalty, celebrities, dignitaries, high fashion jewelry enthusiasts and discerning collectors across the globe. Buyers include the likes of Natalie Wood, The Empress of Japan, The Shah of Iran, Ferragamo, and many more.

Every piece was made by hand, assembled by hand and each tourmaline gemstone was selected by H. Burle Marx personally from his family’s mines in South America. He spent over 10 years collecting these stones for a perfect color match.

Originally purchased by my grandfather in 1965 from H. Burle Marx directly in Copacabana, Rio De Janeiro. Been in my family ever since. It has only ever been worn by my grandmother and only a handful of times for very special events/occasions. (She passed several years ago, and as none of the remaining family will ever have cause to attend an event that warrants such a fantastic piece of jewelry, we have decided to sell.)

***2/27/24*** added photos of Provenance documents from 1965 outlining plans to send necklace and earrings via personal courier (per plan w HB Marx himself) & card from Haraldo Burle Marx with the purchase. Additionally, appraisal documents from 1966 shortly after purchase.

- Hallmark 750KT, yellow gold hand assembled tourmaline necklace

- 18k yellow gold hidden clasp & safety w/Florentine finish

- 67 square cut bezel set green tourmalines (4 additional square cut bezel set tourmalines for the earrings)

- Approximately 40 carat total weight tourmaline gemstones (necklace only); clarity is GIA slyG 5/4

- Two rows of tourmalines graduating in size from 2 carat (bottom center) to .50 carat (upper, near clasp)

- Top row square shape sections have attached bar and circle drop (hand etched depression in circle), bottom row dangles with single bar.

- TOTAL weight of necklace: 175.6 grams

***please note that there is a minor flaw in need of repair. You’ll notice in pics the lower left (facing) side of the necklace a slight separation of one of the upper squares from the bar next to it. It is a very simple repair but we do not trust anyone with it
