1969 Erie Program Part 4

Perceptual Card & Dominoes Games

This is a great set of educational card games produced in 1969 by Teaching Resources, a New York Times Company.

This is an educational set. It is the 4th part of an educational program. There are 6 sets of cards that each have 24 or 35 cards in each deck. Then each set of cards comes in a two piece hare plastic case for protection and storage.

The program was developed by Daniel Hatton, M.A. with Frank Pizzat, Ph.D. and Jerome Pelkowski, M.A.

The set is a series of perceptual-motor exercises which, to enhance their usefulness to teachers, therapists and parents, have been produced in the format of games. They are designed to be used at preschool, kindergarten and primary grades, and are especially designed for children who have learning disabilities based on perceptual-motor deficits.

This fourth part is a variation of old maid as well as a variation of dominoes. Both games are designed to provide children with some of the basic skills which must be mastered before a child can learn to read.

If you have a youngster at home who you are looking to get up to speed, this would be a great set. Perhaps you are a teacher looking for a set for the classroom, give this set a shot.
