In 1996, Oxford University published facsimile first editions of Mark Twain's entire oeuvre.

Under the general editorship of Shelley Fisher Fishkin, each volume sported an introduction and an afterword by a noted scholar or novelist.

The original illustrations are also reproduced in each volume.

A total of 29 volumes were released.
