ANTIQUE ITALIAN HAND PAINTED ENAMEL GOLD GILT 800 SILVER POWDER COMPACT WITH MIRROR

Presenting an exquisite example of Art Nouveau artistry. This extraordinarily detailed hand enameled compact features a neoclassical love scene of a gentleman presenting his love with the bluebird of happiness in a garden setting. The scene is bordered by an ornate engraved silver design and green enameling representing Malachite in the scalloped design compact. 

• An intricate floral design is hand engraved on the bottom of the silver compact and the interior is gilded in a gold wash finish.
• The mirror is in flawless condition and the compact still has its original powder screen insert.
• Stamped 800 and the maker’s mark hallmark, the entire piece.
• The clasp is both tight and secure and the hinge is straight and fully functioning.
• Measuring 3.21 inches (81.66mm) by 3.87 inches (98.3mm) and weighs 138.8 grams. 
• This early 1900’s antique is in near mint condition and has retained its rich natural patina throughout the piece.
