There are no publicly known differences between S2000 firmware 1.0 and 1.5. It is not needed to boot the OS 2.0 boot disk and it was never offered as an upgrade from Akai. I have upgraded units with 1.0 to 1.5 with no problem at all.

August 2021 update - Regrettably due to significantly rising costs of newly manufactured parts due to the silicon shortage, and certain variants of these chips at risk of becoming obsoleted earlier than expected, I am forced to raise my prices accordingly.
