THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR THE BOOT DISK!! You will still need it.
The firmware is a separate chip in the S2000.
If you have a 1.0 chip then you can upgrade to this version.
Dozens & dozens of very happy customers all over the world!

There are no publicly known differences between S2000 firmware 1.0 and 1.5. It is not needed to boot the OS 2.0 boot disk and it was never offered as an upgrade from Akai. I have upgraded units with 1.0 to 1.5 with no problem at all.

Why buy your ROM from me? I was the first to sell strictly brand new, newly manufactured, made in USA ROM chips, in a proper ESD certified environment. I only use OTP ROMs which are impervious to bit rot (data corruption!) I was not afraid to say this even though I knew others would realize the gig was up on selling recycled, quick-to-fail EPROM's. I am an AMERICAN BUSINESS who only sources my stock directly from other AMERICAN BUSINESSES - this means your purchase keeps our local economy going.

Not only am I shipping from within the USA same or next day, offering the best prices & lifetime support, I also am the ONLY ROM seller in North America paying royalty fees on every sale where it applies, and the ONLY ROM seller who has 10+ years of formal synthesizer & pro audio repair experience.

THANK YOU and never hesitate to write to me with any questions or concerns!!

And of course..... Free 30 day returns. No hassle, no problem. Instruction guidelines included. Thanks for looking =)

--- Shipping & Handling Update ---
Please note as of November 6, 2020, my city has enacted new lockdown protocols & curfews. I have increased my shipping handling times to 3 business days to allow for additional delays which may be incurred due to these new regulations. I will continue to make all efforts to ship within 1-2 business days as I usually do, but please understand if it takes me up to 3 business days to get an item shipped. Thank you for your understanding and thank you VERY MUCH for your business and interest in my products!!!

August 2021 update - Regrettably due to significantly rising costs of newly manufactured parts due to the silicon shortage, and certain variants of these chips at risk of becoming obsoleted earlier than expected, I am forced to raise my prices accordingly. For certain models used, the cost of parts has doubled in the last few months. I apologize and advise you to get your upgrades while you need them!
